The Life Cycle of a Brilliant Idea: Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the UK and the Netherlands
The twelfth annual Apeldoorn: British-Dutch Dialogue Conference took place at the Seats2Meet Strijp-S in Eindhoven (Netherlands) from Sunday 9 to Tuesday 11 June 2013.
The theme of the 2013 Conference was ‘The Life Cycle of a Brilliant Idea: Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the UK and the Netherlands’. One hundred delegates from the UK and the Netherlands, from the worlds of industry, science, academia, politics, government and civil society, came together for three days to share ideas on how our two countries can build better, more open and connected innovation ecosystems at this time of economic uncertainty in Europe.
Delegates explored in detail the different stages of the Life Cycle of A Brilliant Idea, from the broader cultural values underpinning a nation’s attitude to new concepts and products, the key role education must play in encouraging enterprising thinking, the behaviour companies should adopt to embed innovation into their business processes, and the practical tools and resources needed by entrepreneurs to make their brilliant ideas a reality.
