NRTO Taaltrainersdag 2017
Date
Saturday 18 November 2017 -
10:00 to 17:00

Join the British Council at the Taaltrainersdag 2017 organised by the Nederlandse Raad voor Training en Opleiding (NRTO) on 18 November in Vught.

At the British Council we are passionate about the English language and those who teach English.

The British Council will be at the NRTO event to inform you about our examination services and our teaching English resources and teacher development offers.

We are excited to meet language teachers at our stand throughout the event. We will be offering two workshops at the event and we would like to invite you to attend.

IELTS workshop for English language trainers

IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration, with over 2.9 million tests taken in the last year. The British Council is a proud co-owner of IELTS.

During this workshop, English teachers can learn all they need to know about the IELTS exam and get expert tips and useful resources to prepare students for IELTS. The workshop will give teachers an in-depth overview of the structure and benefits of the exam and then will focus on the writing section of the IELTS exam, in a practical and interactive way. Teachers will also analyse and discuss various elements of the exam such as the grading system and how it compares to other English tests. Teachers can meet the British Council IELTS experts and share ideas and experiences with other English teachers preparing students for exams.

It is important to note that, due to strict guidelines, IELTS examiners cannot attend this workshop.

Workshop on continuing your professional development as a teacher

Through our courses, expert advice, teaching materials and support networks, the British Council is here to help you become a more effective English teacher. So whether you're new to English language teaching, or you're taking the next steps in your career and development, we can provide you with valuable help and opportunities.

During the workshop, we will tell you more about our focus on teacher resources and the British Council’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Framework; our approach to help teachers to understand and plan their own professional development with a bit of our help along the way.
