We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join our team of Cambridge Freelance Speaking Examiners for B2, C1, and C2 levels in the Netherlands. The ideal candidate lives in or near Leeuwarden, Groningen or Zwolle.

Role overview

To ensure that Cambridge Assessment English tests administered by the British Council run smoothly on the test day(s) and that all assigned test day duties and standards are met.

You will be accountable for maintaining the integrity and reputation of the British Council and the various examination boards by ensuring that tests are delivered to prescribed customer service, security and administration standards. You will also be accountable for promoting a positive image of the British Council by providing a high standard of customer care on the test day.

The candidate needs to fill the below professional background requirements:

  • Education to first degree level or equivalent
  • A recognised language teaching qualification 
  • Proof of substantial, relevant, teaching experience within the last 2 to 3 years, ideally equivalent to at least 1,800 hours
  • The required professional attributes and interpersonal skills.

For the teaching qualification, this could be one of the following:

  • TEFL/TESOL qualification from a recognised institution (minimum certificate level – see below for more information)

OR

  •  EFL/ESOL-related studies completed as part of an undergraduate/postgraduate course from a recognised institution (minimum certificate level)

OR

  • A degree in an educational field where a component of the syllabus was focused on ELT, language teaching or English language and/or literacy.
